Well we had another great weekend's eventing, and this time the sun shone brilliantly! It was actually warm enough on Saturday to take our coats off! Shock horror!
The novice horses ran on Saturday, and they all went beautifully. Arthur did a great 35 double clear and went double clear in only his second novice run to finish 3rd! I am so pleased with him, he has come on loads this year, and I can confidently say he is the best horse I've ever ridden cross country!
Holly did a brilliant dressage test, scoring 32, and had a silly fence down before going clear cross country to finish 6th. Again, I was super proud as she is a new ride this year and seems to gain confidence every time out!
Purdey did a great test, but a couple times silly mistakes meant she scored a 34 (which is hardly terrible!). She had 2 fences down, and I think we might just try a couple new bits this week as it had nothing to do with her jump. Purdey also flew round cross country, and considering it was only her 7th ever event (and her 4th clear round at novice) I was over the moon. She finished a very credible 12th.
We headed back on Sunday with Crunchie for the Intermediate and Louie for the Advanced. Crunchie was looking for a nice run after her CIC 2 Star at Burnham and she didn't disappoint. A great dressage test (which was her first this year without the help of falling snow!) was followed by a great show jumping round. She had a couple down, but jumped incredibly well over a big, undulating track. She then flew round the cross country to finish 12th!
